The Department of Registration and Records supports the mission and values of NC State University through the enforcement of academic policies, rules, and regulations (PRRs). The department serves as a resource to students and campus on the interpretation and application of PRRs that affect students from matriculation through graduation. Some of the PRR domains the department works closely with include:

Academic Standards and Standing

Enrollment and Grades

Graduation

Academic Honors

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Registration and Records works closely in coordination with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to establish and enforce regulations regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Undergraduate and Agricultural Institute (AGI) students must meet certain academic enrollment, credit hour completion, and Grade Point Average (GPA) standards each academic year in order to remain eligible to enroll at NC State.

All students that are deemed ineligible to continue at the end of the academic year are allowed to opportunity to appeal to continue their enrollment. Information about SAP for undergraduate and AGI students is available on the Student Services Center website.

Students applying for financial aid are also required to meet additional standards outlined in the Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid Eligibility Policy, which is enforced by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
